Let’s show veterans we support them.
After being exposed to highly stressful situations, long periods away from home, and then adjusting to civilian life, veterans can face unique challenges to their mental health. Sometimes these can surface many years later.
Research shows that veterans struggling with their mental health are less likely to ask for help than those who have not served in the Armed Forces*. Many veterans don’t reach out as they don’t think civilian services will understand or support them. And they’re in fear of being judged or seen to be weak.
Let’s show veterans that:
- There is specialised support available to them, from people who will understand the unique challenges they face.
- Mental health stigma has no place in our society and we are fighting it.
- Calling on the government for better support for veterans.
- There is a community of people here to support them however we can.
Add your name today to show veterans they are not alone.
